Please read all directions carefully as working with electricity can be dangerous.   A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN IS RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL THE ADPOWER® OPTIMIZER UNITS.

  1. Turn off the Power.
  2. Remove the Panel, Sub-Panel or Disconnect Cover.
  3. Scope out a good location for the AdPower® Optimizer that won't be in the way of other equipment.  Keeping in mind the location of the wire and connectors.
  4. Locate a suitable KO (knock-out) or dill a hole sized for the connector you are using.
  5. If needed shorten the conduit to the appropriate length of the installation.
  6. Push the wires through and connect the connectors to the conduit.
  7. Secure the AdPower® Optimizer to the wall using an appropriate wall-anchor or Tap-Con™.
  8. Secure the connector to the KO or hole you just drilled.
  9. Locate the Ground Bar and connect the GREEN wire to it.
  10. To take advantage of the Surge Protection and Power Saving Features this unit provides, you must connect it to a 2-Pole Breaker that is the first in line off the Main (i.e. the first breaker) or the Main Lugs. (MAKE SURE POWER IS DISCONNECTED IF USING THIS METHOD, IT WILL ARC AND MAY DAMAGE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM)
  11. Loosen the screw terminals on the 2-Pole Breaker or Main Lugs
  12. Place one of the RED wires under one of the screw terminals and tighten.
  13. Place the other RED wire under the other screw terminal and tighten.
  14. Verify that there are no loose wires and everything is secure.
  15. Replace the Panel, Sub-Panel or Disconnect Cover.
  16. Turn on the Power and start saving.

In a Three-Phase Installation it does not matter which wire goes to which phase, even if there is a "high-leg".

  1. Turn off the Power.
  2. Remove the Panel, Sub-Panel or Disconnect Cover.
  3. Scope out a good location for the AdPower® Optimizer that won't be in the way of other equipment.  Keeping in mind the location of the wire and connectors.
  4. Locate a suitable KO (knock-out) or dill a hole sized for the connector you are using.
  5. If needed, shorten the conduit to an appropriate length of the installation.
  6. Push the wires through and connect the connectors to the conduit.
  7. Secure the AdPower® Optimizer to the wall using an appropriate wall-anchor or Tap-Con™.
  8. Secure the connector to the KO or hole you just drilled.
  9. Locate the Ground Bar and connect the GREEN wire to it.
  10.   12. Place one of the RED wires under one of the screw terminals and tighten.
  13. Place the other RED wire under the other screw terminal and tighten.
  14. Place the final RED wire under the final screw terminal and tighten.
  15. Verify that there are no loose wires and everything is secure.
  16. Replace the Panel, Sub-Panel or Disconnect Cover.
  17. Turn on the Power and start saving.
